Finding the ideal transport option for our daily commute can sometimes be a challenge!
To assist you in choosing the best transportation solution, the Guichet Mobile team invites you to explore various profiles and case studies over the coming weeks.
Today, let’s look at the example of Sacha, who lives in Plan-les-Ouates and travels to Mies 4 times a week. The quickest option is by car, with a journey time of 28 minutes (without traffic). By carpooling with a colleague and using a fuel-powered car, the estimated annual cost per person is around CHF 3000 (70ct/km).
For a more economical option, Sacha can opt for public transport. By combining bus and train: Plan-les-Ouates to Lancy, then Lancy to Mies, his travel time is 43 minutes.
Sacha has two options:
- A modular travelcard that combines the Unireso and SBB travelcards, costing CHF 1367/year.
- Without a travelcard, purchasing day tickets would cost CHF 2480/year.
