Bike-sharing is back!

The bike-sharing network is once again available throughout the Nyon Region. A total of 70 stations with 450 electric bikes from the operator Voi have officially been in service since this week across 16 partner municipalities. The public can test the bikes for free over the next few weeks using promotional codes affixed to the bikes, which grant access to 3 x 15-minute rides.

Choose the option that works best for you

The system offers a variety of rates and passes based on how you use the bike-sharing service. For example, you can pay based on how long you use the bike, or choose unlimited unlocking for a day, a week, or a month, with a certain number of minutes included. Download the app to see all the available options!

A new generation of bike-sharing bikes

The bike-sharing bikes in the Nyon Region network represent a new generation of electric bikes, designed for simple and comfortable everyday use. They feature a low-step frame, a height-adjustable seat, a front basket, and a smartphone mount, making them easy to ride and suitable for a variety of trips.

The Explorer Light 2 model stands out for its lightweight and user-friendly design, suitable for a wide range of riders, including those with less experience, older adults, or anyone looking for a bike that’s particularly easy to mount. It offers a stable and comfortable ride. The bikes are also equipped with a high-capacity battery, making it easy to cover trips throughout the region.

A simple and structured system

The Voi system is based on a clear and structured operation, with designated parking spots for the bikes. Thanks to a geolocation system, users can pick up and return bikes only at the designated locations, thereby ensuring an orderly and accessible public space.

The Voi app also offers several features designed to help cyclists use the service safely and responsibly. In particular, users can familiarize themselves with the rules of use via the RideSafe Academy integrated into the app (see below). Certain features also encourage best practices, such as the ability to earn a reward by taking a photo with your helmet before starting a ride. Finally, the app makes it easy to report any damaged or improperly parked bikes, thereby contributing to the quality and reliability of the service.

Do everything you can to ensure you drive safely

Road safety concerns us all. In this regard, there are some basic rules to follow when riding a bike: always wear a helmet, never ride under the influence of alcohol, and don’t ride with multiple people on a single bike unless it’s designed for that purpose. It’s also important to be familiar with traffic laws before you start riding. If you’re new to riding an e-bike, take it slow! Stay on the bike path or close to the sidewalk. Don’t ride on sidewalks or roads at speeds over 50 km/h. Be mindful of other vehicles, especially at intersections.

Even if you’re very careful, accidents can happen. Make sure you have liability and/or personal accident insurance so you’re covered at all times.

Have you heard of Voi’s RideSafe Academy?

The RideSafe Academy in Voi is an online driving school that teaches you local safety and traffic rules for e-bikes in a fun and engaging way. The online courses are free and available in several languages. A variety of modules are offered based on your profile. You can easily sign up through the app.
