Active mobility

The Guichet Mobile promotes active mobility for everyday journeys.

Active mobility includes cycling and walking. In the Nyon district, the full potential of cycling and walking is yet to be realized. In urban areas, one-third of car trips are under 3 kilometres, which corresponds to about 15 minutes by bike at an average speed of 15 km/h.

Cycling also complements public transport, whether for part or all of the home-to-work journey. Various measures are in place to encourage residents and commuters to adopt active mobility.

Cycle stations and bike parking are available at some regional transport hubs to make cycling more convenient. Together with local authorities, the Region is implementing a regional cycling network in phases. Additionally, various subsidies and benefits are offered to encourage cycling..
